Dental bridges

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by attaching a false tooth to crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap. It's fixed in place and doesn't come out.

Is it right for you?

  • You're missing one tooth or a few teeth in a row
  • The teeth next to the gap already need crowns
  • You prefer a fixed option and aren't a candidate for implants

What to expect

  1. Exam and x-raysWe make sure the supporting teeth are healthy enough to hold a bridge.
  2. Preparing the teethThe supporting teeth are shaped for crowns and scanned. You wear a temporary bridge.
  3. Placing the bridgeThe finished bridge is checked for fit and bite and cemented in place.

Our dentists are general dentists who provide this treatment in our office. Treatment recommendations follow an exam.

Options

Traditional bridge

Crowns on the teeth on both sides hold the replacement tooth.

Implant bridge

Implants hold the bridge instead of natural teeth, so no healthy teeth are reshaped. Learn about implants
